			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="twelvepixel"><strong>Marvin</strong></span><strong> &#8220;Ray&#8221; <span class="twelvepixel">Funk</span> (KCØNEY)</strong><span class="twelvepixel">, 77, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. </span><span class="twelvepixel">Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Hamilton&#8217;s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. A burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Monday September 21 at the funeral home.</span></p>
<p><span class="twelvepixel">Ray was born on March 16, 1932 to Charles and Lucille Funk in Derby, Iowa. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharge in December of 1953. </span></p>
<p><span class="twelvepixel">Ray is survived by his, step-son, Lowell (Linda) Abarr, step-daughter, Lola (Tom) Harris, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Lucille Funk; his brothers, Rolland (Roberta) Funk and Charles (Cindy) Funk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Funk and two grandchildren, Chris Funk and Amy Funk Peterson.</span></p>
