If you are a weather fanatic or just interested in finding out more about National Weather Service operations…please come join us. The open house will include a look inside the office to check out the operations area. Stations to ask questions and see demonstrations by our Meteorologists. Many weather related displays will be available, as well as several booths hosted by NWS partners involving weather preparedness themes and some will include activities for children!

We will also be organizing a food drive for the Iowa Food Bank of Iowa. Please bring donations of non-perishable food items to drop off when visiting for the open house. Donations not necessary to attend.

So bring the family out to the National Weather Service office on September 16th…from 10am to 3pm.

Our address is 9607 NW Beaver Drive in Johnston…just north of the radar on the opposite side of the road. Parking will be limited so carpooling is encouraged. Thank you and hope to see you on Saturday!
