Statewide Tornado Drill, March 28th

Mar 11th, 2018 | By | Category: Chatter

The National Weather Service announces the upcoming Statewide Tornado Drill March 28th, 2018.  The drill will start at 10:00AM and will encourage all folks to check their own tornado preparedness and to call in a weather report from their location with their radio.  There are a variety on ways to check in including the 146.610, 443.400 and their linked repeaters.  We will also take reports via the DMR network using the DMX/SEOC talkgroup.

New this year will be our requests from anyware in the State of Iowa.  We have the ability to forward those reports to the appropriate Weather Service office.   Obviously it is best to cantact your local NWS office, but with statewide DMR repeaters we know that the ability to handle these reports may prove vital in and emergency.
