Commander Brandon Butters of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 33, Flotilla 4 gave a great presentation of the mission and activities of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Iowa.  He described their mission in Iowa and along side the US Coast Guard.  They serve in various emergency situations, tactical support for water events and  aid in informational support.  While the auxiliary have several Amateur Radio operators in their membership, you do not need to be a ham to participate.
