The Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association sponsors classes geared towards earning the entry level amateur radio technician license and classes for upgrading from technician level to the general license level.  The instructors are members of the DMRAA that have volunteered their time.

Amateur Radio Technician License Class

What: Amateur Radio Technician License Class

When:   Saturday, March 16th 2024

Where: Fort Des Moines Museum, 75 E Army Post Rd, Des Moines, IA

Parking entrance is off Chaffee Rd

Cost: $100.00 registration fee covers all class expenses including the license Manual, pre-course work sheets, morning and afternoon snacks, lunch with a soda, dual band hand held radio pre programmed with local channels, and testing fee.

Testing: Registration includes FCC Technician Class License Test

Everyone will be required to have their FRN number and a photo ID.

Students are responsible for procuring their own copy of the ARRL General Class License Manual

Parking entrance is off Chaffee Rd

Cost: $35.00 (excludes license manual book)

Students are responsible for purchasing their own ARRL General Class License Manual book for the class.  This may be purchased from the ARRL, Gigaparts, Amazon, and others.
