Classes
The Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association sponsors classes geared towards earning the entry level amateur radio technician license and classes for upgrading from technician level to the general license level. The instructors are members of the DMRAA that have volunteered their time.
Amateur Radio Technician License Class
The DMRAA philosophy concerning this Technician Class: Yes you can! We know that Ham Radio begins with a license and then the learning really starts. We encourage all interested person to consider this class. Enroll with a friend. There are no age restrictions as long as you are motivated.
What: Amateur Radio Technician License Class
When: Saturday, October 26th 2024 8:00AM to about 7:00PM (preregistration required)
Where: Fort Des Moines Museum, 75 E Army Post Rd, Des Moines, IA
Parking entrance is off Chaffee Rd
Cost: $100.00 registration fee covers all class expenses including the license Manual, pre-course work sheets, morning and afternoon snacks, lunch with a soda, dual band hand held radio preprogrammed with local channels, and testing fee.
Testing: Registration fee includes FCC Technician Class License Test
Everyone will be required to have their FRN number and a photo ID.
