Jul 8th, 2012 | By Kevin Sanders K0KDS | Category: ChatterTweet
The Story County Amateur Radio Club is inviting hams to participate in a Fox Hunt, or hidden transmitter hunt, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2012, in Ames, Iowa. We request all interested hunters assemble in the parking lot west of Ames City Hall (behind the Ames Veteran’s Memorial, Grand Avenue and 5th Street) to register with the hunt leader and receive the hunt rule briefing. Hunters may be individuals or teams and the fox will be hidden somewhere within the Ames city limits. Everyone is welcome so if you have never hunted before, come to the assembly area and ride along with one of the more experienced hunters. The fox will be active on 146.430 MHz FM simplex for two hours (3:00 to 5:00 pm), with assistance provided to any requesting hunter on the fox frequency in the final hour (after 4:00 pm). We also plan to meet at 5:30 pm at Hickory Park for dinner. All are welcome. For more information, contact Clint Miller KC0JUO, [email protected].
