DMRAA Hamfest: this Saturday, April 20!

The Des Moines Radio Amateurs’ Association (DMRAA) is proud to present the 2013 DMRAA Hamfest, this Saturday, April 20, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Elwell Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds at East 30th Street and Grand Avenue in Des Moines.
D&L Antennas, Radio City and the RF Adapter Guy will be on hand, along with other vendors yet to be announced. More fun you can have at the DMRAA Hamfest:
- Meet with ARRL Iowa and ARRL Midwest officials
- Iowa Repeater Council meeting at 10:30 a.m.
- VE testing – earn a new license or upgrade! ($15 testing fee, admission not required to enter testing venue)
- Large flea market
- Full indoor concession stand by Campbell’s
- DMRAA Bob Evans Award presentation
- … and more!
Admission is $6 and children under 12 are free. The DMRAA Hamfest offers free parking, convenient restrooms, and is handicapped-accessible. The talk-in frequency is 146.940-, PL 114.8.
Tables at the DMRAA Hamfest are available for just $20 for the first table, and $10 for subsequent tables. You can reserve tables online at https://dmraa.com/hamfest until April 19. Friday setup is available.
The grand prize for this year’s Hamfest is a Kenwood TM-V71A dual-band, dual-display mobile radio, retail value $430! Runner-up prizes will be given out throughout the day, to include multiple Baofeng UV-5R’s with aftermarket high-gain antennas, and ARRL gift certificates. Gift certificates to the ARRL’s online store will also be given out. These gift certificates can be used on any merchandise in the ARRL’s online store, including books, kits, videos, clothing, and more!
