You won’t need to look very far to find a host of fun and rewarding things to add to your list of to-do items after Labor Day.

  • September (September 27th) will be the annual Head of the Des Moines Rowing Regatta.  Contact Bruce, KCØZMT kc0zmt@gmail.com to help.
  • We understand that the Hiawatha Amateur Radio Club (HARC) will be hosting the annual JOTA, (Jamboree On The Air) at Camp Mitigwa October 18th,   Contact Ray, WA2GTM wa2gtm@arrl.net.
  • The Des Moines Marathon is October 19th.  This event utilizes over 40 ARES operators to provide communications for this event with more than 10,000 athletes.  Please contact Rick, NØCFL n0cfl@arrl.net to help.
  • What can we say about the Living History Farms Cross Country off road Race?  It is a blast.    ARES will again provide the communications.  Contact NØOOD  n0ood@arrl.net to help.
  • The best follow-up for all of the activities is to attend the DMRAA’s annual Chili-Feed Auction November 25th.  Awesome chili and great fellowship.  More information will be posted on the DMRAA.com website
