You’ve earned your Technician license… now what? The Story County ARES Winter Ham Radio Seminar will be a hands-on forum where you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about topics you may have only heard about.
Topics will include:
- Hands-on radio setup, usage and on-air operating procedures
- What should I buy as my first or next radio?
- APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System)
- “Fox Hunting” / Radio Direction Finding
- Introduction to digital modes (including PSK-31 and RTTY)
- Public Service event and ARES volunteer opportunities
NOTE: If you need help with specific radio equipment (such as programming or setup) please notify the event organizers in advance and we will attempt to coordinate assistance for your make/model of gear.
