Jun 26th, 2016 | By Des Moines Radio Amateurs' Association | Category: AlertsTweet
The DMRAA conducted another very successful Field Day. The weather was typical (hot with a rain event). A nice group assembled and erected two towers and three guyed masts. The operating started at 1:00 PM and was in full swing a little later. We had several visitors and operators. Initial stats indicate over 1200 contacts. The location was new this year. We were at Yellow Banks County Park and it was very nice. Many thanks to Mr. Field Day, Dean, NØXR. Per usual he made all the operating stations come alive. Of course many others helped, Ron KDØTTO for some very tasty smoked pork loins, Scott, NØOOD for tables and chairs. Thanks to club president Bruce, KCØZMT for putting it all together. Thanks to all of the folks that pulled trailers, helped set up and tear down. Also to the folks that came and operated.
