The October meeting of the Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 600 6th Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50309.

Location and Parking

The church is located on Watson Powell Jr. Way between 6th and 7th Streets. Please use the red-door entrance on the Watson Powell side of the building. Our meeting room, Albrecht Hall, is located just down the hall from that entrance.

There should be ample legal street parking available along Watson Powell Jr. Way. If street parking is unavailable, attendees may also use the parking lot located on the west side of the building.

Program

This month’s program will be presented by Joe Oetker, KF0AIH, who will discuss the portable antenna system he built and has been using for ARES events. Joe will share information about the antenna’s design, construction, and field use.
