Polk ARES participating in 100th Boy Scouts Encampment

Polk County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) will participate in the Boy Scouts of America 100th Encampment at Water Works Park in Des Moines. On display at the amateur radio booth will be a Flex 5000 software-defined radio display, backpack HF station, HF station, D-STAR station, and a VHF/UHF station. The National Weather Service and PowerFilm Solar will also participate in the display. W0AK will be operating on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the VHF frequency will be 146.520 (simplex, no tone) and the UHF frequency will be 442.575 (positive offset, with a PL of 151.4).
