IMT Des Moines Marathon Only Needs 2 Additional Radio Operators
Sep 24th, 2014 | By Tom Reis NØVPR | Category: AlertsTweet
The 2014 IMT Des Moines Marathon onle needs two needs additional radio operators. The race committee has decided to add additional water stops and SAG wagon for the race. These additional resources will help provide a safer and enjoyable event. It takes a lot of resources to accommodate over 10,000 runners. Polk County ARES has provided a vital piece of support for this event since the very beginning. Our commitment generally requires over 40 operators. With the addition of additional water stops and SAG wagons will come the need for additional operators. Please contact Rick Allen, NØCFL or Bruce Brumm, KCØZMT if you can help.
We also need additional APRS tracers for the race (more SAG wagons). If you have a tracker that you would be willing to borrow to the group, please contact Kirk Nelson, WL7CLI as soon as possible.
You need not be a member of Polk County ARES to participate. This is a great event to “give back to the community” through Amateur Radio. If you are a new ham, even better. We’d love to help you become involved.
