Amateur Radio General License Class

Offered by the Des Moines Radio Amateurs Association

This class will prepare you to take the FCC General License Exam. The Thursday evening classes will conclude with ARRL, VE examiners administering the General Exam.

What:   Amateur Radio General License Class

When: Thursday evenings February 1, through March 22, 2018.  7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Where:  Edgewater Retirement Community,  9225 Cascade Ave. West Des Moines, IA   “Wellness Room”     – this is a ground level room just west of the main entrance on the south side of the facility main entrance.

Cost:      $ 35.00 per student

Testing:  Testing is scheduled for Thursday March 29, 2018. There will be a $ 15.00 Fee for the testing payable at the time of the test.

Text books:  Each student will be required to obtain their own copy of the ARRL  “General Class License Manual” ($ 29.95). The current edition of this manual is July1, 2015 – July 30, 2019.  A copy of the ARRL “General Class Q & A” ($ 17.95) book would also be helpful to the student but it is not required.
